me and friends : they live in this chaotic yet pretty space

There is this one space in Jakarta that everytime I come
there I will always find tons of things to take pictures of
and they all turned out just so much fun and colourful!
There live my talented friends where we used to make
and do stuff together and this year they will celebrate
their 10th year anniversary! Congrats guys!

Ruang Rupa adalah salah satu tempat di Jakarta yang
menurut saya setiap kali saya memotret disana hasilnya
pasti akan selalu tidak biasa. Dan tahun ini mereka akan
merayakan ulang tahunnya yang ke 10! Selamat teman-teman!

me and exhibition: Aprilia Apsari for Codex Code!

I went to the opening of the Codex Code last Saturday night

and instantly in love with this piece by the always inspiring, Miss Sari 

She made this out of jeans and flower cut out fabric pieces. Somehow

her pieces also makes me feel has a friend on this exhibition that

will ended on 22nd of August 2010. Please do check it out my friends!

Saya datang ke pembukaan pameran Codex Code malam

minggu lalu bersama Miss Dindie Mikisi dan langsung

mabuk kepayang dengan karya Nona Sari yang membuat

karya saya terasa ada temannya. Pameran yang bertempat

di ruang rupa ini akan berlangsung hingga 22 Agustus 2010.

Datang ya teman-teman! Dijamin tak akan kecewa!

It is a group exhibition where each artists make 

a book as their exhibition material.Initiated from

an art collective in Jogja this exhibition will be

touring to Jakarta and Bandung afterwards.

I make a book made of hankies with machine

embroidery with a message of feelings being

wipe away by a hankies.That's the cover, but

I will share you in details soon;)

Saya diundang menjadi salah satu artis yang ikut

berpameran di Codex Code, sebuah pameran 

dimana setiap artisnya membuat buku. Pameran

yang digagas oleh teman-teman dari Jogja dan 

kemudian keliling ke Jakarta dan Bandung ini

membuat saya mencoba membuat sebuah buku

dari saputangan bekas yang dibordir dengan 

pesan perasaan-perasaan yang diseka oleh selembar

saputangan:)

me and exhibition: my first curating experience!

So this is one of THE exhibition that I have been preparing this month!
What makes it sooo special its because I'm also the curator apart of
exhibiting and showcasing my framed art postcard collections plus
selling some postcards on this event! You are all of course invited
and certainly wish so many friends of mine outside Indonesia could
come too:)

serta menjual beberapa set kartu pos kolase saya disana.Dengan

me and enamel ware : house of enamel lovers

I found them last Sunday during an exhibition preparation
meeting in one of the most impressive artist initiatives in
Jakarta. Some of them collect and use these enamel wares
for their daily coffee, tea and other sweet consumption.
They even display a series on their shop!

Saya menemukan mereka waktu sedang ikut pertemuan
untuk sebuah pameran di ruang rupa yang akan dibuat
bulan depan.Kita bisa menemukan gelas dan piring kaleng
cantik ini hampir dimana-mana disana! Saya kemudian
iseng mengumpulkannya dan memotretnya:)

(Not) A Sunny Sunday

Two Sundays ago this guys held a Sunday jazz festival featured
some awesome jazz groups from Jakarta. And during that one day
festival they open this craft and second hand market on the venue.
I was being invited, together with Miss Raw and other friends of
ours. Unfortunately it was raining really hard all day!

But since this is one of the most awesome art collective in Jakarta
where I also put some of my originals for sale on their shop plus
I soon might be doing a group exhibition on July, I was totally a
happy creature that Sunday:)

Sunny Sunday

One extremely sunny Sunday indeed. I joined a garage sale

called Holy Market in a big art collective run by some good

friends. And how much fun it was! I will show you later what

I scored from this awesome market.

And I've spent this weekend in so many wonderful other

markets too. I definitely enjoy my weekend after three weeks

spending at the office.Yay!

For the whole Saturday until Monday I joined this bazaar

of second hand stuff at an art collective for the celebration

of our independence day. I bring along some of my craftworks

too and having such a good time! I hope your Sunday was

Sunny Sunday

I have three pieces of collages that I have to submit today

for an art book that will be launch together with a new single

by a friend's band this month. So here I am, spending the

whole Sunday that's totally not sunny and quickly turn into a

rainy one in their headquarter that's also one of the most

active art space in Jakarta. Sweet!

me and zine: a dream come true workshop

last saturday I had a zine workshop for Femme, an independent

organization of 25 women related to drugs and HIV/AIDS. they

had this gorgeous arpirella exhibition for a week as you can see

from all these photos and the workshop is part of it as the ending.

it's such a small and warm yet fun workshop. after i gave a short

introduction and stories on zine itself, i have also invite a

girlfriend of mine that also making zine to share her experiences.

afterwards, we all busy cutting, gluing and eating our lunch while

making our zine.

there were 8 zines being presented at the end of the workshop.

mostly personal zines that deals with homosexuality, parents,

motherhood and love. oh how grateful and proud I am of them!
